Scottish International Scholarship Programme
Permanent residents of China, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore wishing to study for a Masters in Scotland can apply for the Scottish Executive scholarships. The scholarships are available for courses at any Scottish higher education institution, with priority for science and technology and creative industries courses. They cover tuition fees, return economy airfare and living allowance.Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (ORSAS)+/
The ORSAS is available to students of exceptional academic excellence to undertake postgraduate research in British universities. The award provides funding only to pay the difference between the international student tuition fee and the home/EU fee. They do not cover the basic fee or maintenance; however, some universities provide additional awards to cover these extra costs. Students have to apply through the academic institution where they have been offered a place to study.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plans (CSFP)
General Scholarships through the CSFP are normally available for postgraduate studies, and cover the cost of the university fees, return travel and personal maintenance. Applications should normally be filed in the first instance to the Commonwealth Scholarship agency in the country where the applicant is a permanent resident.
Split-Site Doctoral Scholarships from the CSFP support students who are already undertaking a PhD programme in their home university. The scholarship enables the students to spend 1 year in a UK university as part of their work. The award covers one year's tuition fees, travel and maintenance allowance. Applications are normally sent through the universities.
The Shared Scholarship Scheme provides support for taught postgraduate students who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK. The scheme provides funding for tuition fees, return airlines and a maintenance stipend. Applications should be filed through participating universities.
British Chevening Scholarships
These scholarships are available to talented graduates and young professionals for studying in the UK. Three types of scholarships are available: Type A (tuition fees only), Type B (full scholarships, covering fees and stipends), and Type C (covering part or full stipends and allowances). Applications should be made through the British Embassy, High Commission or British Council of the country where the student is a citizen.

About USA Scholarship
Scholarships, grants, and fellowships are generally based on the student's academic ability and performance over the years. Reliance Industries along with Stanford GSB created the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships for Indian Students to provide deserving students with the opportunity to study at the Stanford Graduate Business School.

American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship
The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship (AU EGL) is aimed to help high-performing students pursue a Bachelor's degree in the US. Students must be active in civic and social activities. This scholarship is aimed at students who plan to improve the under-resourced and underserved communities back in their home country. This scholarship is offered by the American University, Washington DC and is offered to any field of undergraduate study at the University.

Other Details: The AU EGL scholarship covers all billable expenses like full tuition, room, and board. The scholarship does not cover non-billable expenses like the cost of books, airfare, and health insurance.
This is renewable for a total of four years of undergraduate study and is based on continued satisfactory and academic performance.
Tata Scholarships for Cornell University
The Tata Education and Development Trust (Ratan Tata of Tata Sons Ltd.) has given a $25 million endowment to Cornell University to offer financial aid to underprivileged but meritorious Indian students who wish to study undergraduate courses at Cornell.

There are several other scholarships available for Indian students who want to study in the USA including the ETS TOEFL Scholarship, Lady Meherbai D. Tata Education Trust Scholarships, etc. There are also specific scholarships for MS in the USA or even for a Master's program like the Rotary Peace fellowships or scholarships specifically for women including the AAUW International Fellowships, MIT-Zaragoza Women in Logistics and SCM Scholarship, and the Asian Women in Business Scholarship Fund.
US Colleges and Universities that offer Scholarships for International Students
American University Scholarships:- American University (AU) awards a limited number of generous partial merit scholarships to academically-qualified incoming international first-year undergraduate students. No need-based financial aid is available to international students. The merit scholarship ranges from U.S.$6,000 to the U.S.$25,000 per academic year (renewable subject to conditions). Also see AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship Program which awards scholarships to high-achieving international students who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at the University and who are dedicated to positive civic and social change. It is intended for students who will be returning home to improve under-resourced, under-served communities in his/her home country.
Amherst College Scholarships:- Amherst College currently runs a need-based financial aid program that provides assistance to financially needy international students. Once you have been admitted, your financial need is determined. A financial aid award that is equal to your need will then be offered. The award is sometimes called an “aid package” because it may include both self-help (employment) and gift aid (scholarships and grants).
Berea College Scholarships:- Berea College is the only school in the United States that provides 100% funding to 100% of enrolled international students for the first year of enrollment. This combination of financial aid and scholarships offsets the costs of tuition, room, board, and fees. In subsequent years, international students are expected to save $1,000 (US) per year to contribute toward their expenses. The College does provide summer jobs to international students so that they may meet this obligation.
Clark University Scholarships:- Clark University offers the Clark Global Scholars Program which is open to first-year applicants (not a transfer student) who has attended school overseas for at least four years as well as international citizens attending school in the United States. A scholarship of $15,000 to $25,000 per year (for four years, contingent upon meeting academic standards for renewal) and a guaranteed $2,500 taxable stipend for a paid internship or research assistantship taken for academic credit during the summer following your sophomore or junior year is included with the award.
Colby-Sawyer College Scholarships:- International students are eligible for merit-based financial aid offered by Colby-Sawyer College. The scholarship value increases based on academic ability (measured in GPA) and range from $20,000 up to $26,000 per year. The college does not meet full financial need.
Columbia College Scholarships:- Columbia College offers scholarships and awards to outstanding international students. The awards are one-time cash grants or 15%- 100% tuition reduction.
Concordia College Scholarships:- Concordia prizes the contributions international students make on campus and is pleased to provide partial financial assistance to international students. The International Student Scholarship is based on academic ability and family need, amounting up to $25,000 per year. International Excellence Scholarships are competitive, merit-based scholarships that are awarded to international first-year students or transfer students for up to four years and can go as high as $25,000.
Dartmouth College Scholarships:- Dartmouth College meets the demonstrated need of all admitted undergraduates, including those from other countries. Dartmouth College has scholarships and loans available to international students, which includes an allowance for travel to the U.S.
East Tennessee State University:- East Tennessee State University (ETSU) offers the International Students Academic Merit Scholarship for new international students seeking a graduate or undergraduate degree. The scholarship value per academic year is $12,500 for Undergraduate students and $11,500 for Graduate students.
East-West Center:- The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for up to 24 months for Master’s or Doctoral degree study for graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the U.S. to participate in the educational, residential, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai’i.
Emory College Scholarships:- Emory College offers need-based financial aid awards to a select group of international students each year. As well, international applicants are encouraged to apply for merit-based scholarships through the Emory University Scholars Program (November 15 deadline).
Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarships:- Merit-based scholarships are offered to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams. These awards range from $10,000 to $25,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. In addition, two full-tuition President’s International Student Scholarships may be awarded each year to qualified international students for up to four years of study.
Iowa State University International Merit Scholarships:- International freshmen will be considered for a limited number of merit scholarships. Scholarship selection is competitive based on a holistic review of SAT or ACT scores and high school marks/grades. The awards range from $2,000 to $10,000 and are renewable.
Michigan State University International Scholarships:- Michigan University provides a limited number of scholarship and grants to deserving international students at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. These financial packages are not designed to support your full academic program at MSU.
New York University Wagner Scholarships:- The merit scholarships are offered to a limited number of admitted students each application cycle, including international students. The scholarships are partial to full tuition scholarships ranging from $25,000-$47,000.
Oregon University Scholarships:- Each year, the University of Oregon awards more than one million dollars in financial aid and scholarships to international students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. One of their scholarship programs is the ICSP Scholarship which awards 30–40 competitive scholarships to international students each year. Selected ICSP students receive a tuition-waiver scholarship ranging from $7,500 – $30,000.
Wesleyan University Scholarships:- Financial aid for foreign students, however, is extremely limited and is awarded on the basis of both exceptional qualifications and demonstrated need. The Freeman Asian Scholars Program provides full tuition scholarships for a four-year course of study at Wesleyan toward a bachelor’s degree for 11 exceptionally able Asian students. In addition to the 11 Freeman Asian Scholars, the University is expected to offer financial assistance to approximately 30 foreign students from a pool of approximately 600 such applicants
University of the West Scholarships:- The University of the West offers scholarships to new international students who achieve high academic standards and demonstrate a financial need such as the President’s and Dean’s scholarships. Scholarship recipients will have the full cost of tuition waived for 7.5-15 undergraduate or 6-12 graduate units per semester.
Australian Scholarship
Australian Universities provide a wide range of scholarships to International meritorious students which help them to fund their studies. Scholarships are totally on the basis of the student’s academics. Scholarship covers tuition fees and may also cover the living expenses and travel.
Scholarships for coursework program mostly covers part of the tuition fees however, research programs provide funding up to 100% for tuition fee and good amount of money to cover living expenses.
Apart from the university and college scholarships, Government scholarships are also available for international students. The criteria of the Government scholarship is quite competitive as compared to the university scholarships. As the numbers of applications received are very high, it is advisable to apply quite in advance to get a timely response.

Universities may consider you automatically for scholarship however few universities require successful admission and few more documents before they consider you for scholarship.
Here is a list of Indian and international scholarships with relevant descriptions. Most of them are available currently while some have tentative deadlines. Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) is for international students who wish to study in Australian Universities and return to their home country to contribute to the national and regional development of their country. ADS are available for undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees, PhD degrees and vocational education and training courses.
The Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) acts as a supplement to ADS. The recipients undertake a Leadership Development Program which provides chances to augment their leadership capacity and extend their association while in Australia. The application intakes are generally around March-June.
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) allows foreign students to take on a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and gain experience working with leading Australian researchers. The Endeavour Executive Award offers professional growth prospects of 1-4 months in Australia for achievers in business, industry, education or government from developing countries. The Awards centres on constructing skills and knowledge through a host work environment rather than enrolling recipients in a formal study program at a host organisation and are not intended to fund direct academic research. The application intakes are generally around April.
The Australia Leadership Awards Fellowships are research, short-term study and professional attachment programs offered by Australian organizations. The ALA Fellowships are a part of a regional program that aspires to develop leadership and build partnerships and linkages with developing countries. The program is meant for those who are already leaders or have the potential to take up leadership roles that can influence socio-economic policy reform and development outcomes.
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Postgraduate scholarship program provides opportunities in science and engineering for exceptional students who enrol at any Australian tertiary institutions as a full-time postgraduate student for research leading to PhD.
The Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships from Rotary Foundation of Rotary International provide funds for an academic year of study in Australia. This fund is meant to help pay costs related to round-trip transportation, course fee and living costs and at a flat grant amount of AU$27,000 for bachelors or masters or PhD in research or coursework.
Mostly, Indian scholarships and grants provided by the Indian government and non-governmental organizations are in the form of no-interest or interest free loans to assist Indian students to study abroad.
The Indian National Science Academy accepts applications from outstanding Indian Researchers and Senior Professional Scientists who have regular positions in Indian recognized S&T Institutions/Universities and actively engaged in research in frontline areas in all fields of Science & Technology including Agriculture and Medicine.
The Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) allows Australian researchers from public and private sectors to contribute in leading-edge scientific research projects and workshops with Indian scientists and support the progress of strategic alliances between Australian and Indian researchers.
The Postgraduate Merit Scholarship is awarded by University Grants Commission to students pursuing PG first year regular non-professional degree courses in any renowned university or a post-graduate college. The application intake deadline is in October.
Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India offers the “Kishore Vaigyanik ProtsahanYojana” (KVPY) program, which was started in 1999 encouraging students of Basic Sciences to take up research careers in Science.
